We tried to Help Educators and Students Help Themselves

As former students, we had experienced the educational institutions weird unwillingness to provide a connection between the education we paid for and the ”outside world” we supposedly were preparing ourselves for.

To remedy this injustice, we set out to incorporate high schools’ and universities’ technology programs and courses as a developing resource for this project. It was a really simple solution to a lot of identified issues - but how wrong we were.

We thought that by giving students the opportunity to work with real life projects, incorporated in specific courses, we would get a ”if you scratch mine, I scratch yours” effect and everybody involved would be winners.

Well, what educational institutions and those politically responsible officially HAVE to say they support and are willing/want to do, and, what they acctually CAN do and DOES - is two very different things.

To make the story short - what we learned the hard way was that this mainly is an error in the financial system supporting educations and their institutions. There’s no remedy for this without a total restructuring of said systems.

The victims are the students. And those who later wanna hire them, but can’t due to insufficient educations that fail to deliver what it’s supposed to. Particularly so in tech intensive industries such as game development.
